i am 37 and always had pretty good skin until i got sick and had to have chemotherapy etc.
anyway, i am all better now but now i feel the need to start wearing make up, which i have never done before believe it or not!...

so i dont really know where to start, how to pick what shade suits me best, what bits and pieces i need etc. i prefer to have as natural look as possible.

maybe a make up artist would be my best bet? i am living in the city centre of dublin.

    any tips much appreciated ladies!

If you want to splash out I would recommend Bobbi Brown, they have a whole range of items and the foundations come in lots of colours.

The foundations are around €40. Brown Thomas and Arnotts both sell Bobbi Brown.

I have three of their foundations: the natural finish foundation, which is exactly what it is, natural finish. It's very light and not at all cakey or mask like. It does show up any dry skin though.

I have the luminous moisturizing foundation, which is a little heavier, but not much heavier.

I am currently using some samples of the skin foundation and it is amazing. It gives light coverage and feels very light on the skin. It's my favourite foundation tbh. It covered everything, even dry skin. Its amazing stuff, in my opinion anyway.

I'd recommend going in and having a chat with a make up artist and get them to try different foundations and see which suits you best.

You should bring in a little pot like either of these with you as sometimes BB make up artists don't have samples, but will put a little foundation or whatever product into a pot for you to try.

http://www.boots.com/en/Boots-Large-Travel-Pot-70ml_1228649/ - never used this so don't know what it is like sorry.

There is also Bare Minerals http://www.bareescentuals.com/ although I have never used their foundations, I'd like to try them, but they are all loose powders so I'd be afraid of getting a caked/chalky look.

I tried Esteé Lauders double wear light foundation last weekend and to be honest, I found it heavy, cakey and it gave me a chalked look.
