The ARIVA 120 - User Guide

    This is a summary user thread for the ARIVA 120 Combo. Additional useful info welcome

    How to upgrade the Ariva 120 software (Follow the instructions carefully to avoid damaging the unit)

    Ariva 120 Software and Manual Page - software is the first link on the page (listed as ostatnia dostępna wersja oprogramowania)

    Channel Editor Software - to allow you make a channel list for the Ariva 120 using your PC (this is just as an alternative to arranging channels on the box itself using the Remote)

    Known Issues with the ARIVA 120 (as of 27/09/11)
    1. Can give recordings incorrect programme names (unresolved)
    2. Possible lip sych issue on ITV HD (Solution: Use ITV HD Granada Region)
    3. Box hangs on C4HD (now resolved?)


    Transponder information for UK channels
    If a channel no longer seems to work it may have changed its transponder location. You can find up to date transponder information for UK channels here

    Hard Drives Reported to work with Ariva 120
    WARNING: Ariva manufacturer recommends using powered 3.5’’ drives only (drives that need mains electricity). There is a risk that USB powered 2.5’’ drives may draw too much power and damage the unit.


    Aldi - 500gb hard drive (3.5’’).
    Iomega - Select Desktop Hard Drive 500Gb (3.5’’)
    Seagate - 500 GB hard drive. (3.5’’)
    Seagate 1TB (3.5'')
    WD Essentials 1TB (3.5'')
    WD Elements 1Tb (3.5'')
    Freecom XS 1TB (3.5'')
    Seagate 1TB (3.5'')

    Seagate - Expansion 500GB inch portable (2.5’’).
    Toshiba - 750GB External StorE Art HDD (2.5’’)
    Verbatim - 320GB hard drive. (2.5'')
    WD - Passport Essential SE 1TB. (2.5’’)
    WD - Passport Essential SE 500GB. (2.5’’)
    WD - Passport Essential SE 320GB.(2.5’’)
    BUFFALO 500GB MINISTATION (2.5")

    Other drives may also work perfectly well. These are just those reported as working well by boards users.

    Its a zip file so use the windows zip utility or use freeware like 7zip

    Great post. Re 'known issues' just wondering if anyone else having an issue with cccam watching hd channels - as in picture freezing a lot?
