Hi, as title says my crazy amount of body hair is causing me problems.
I'm 30 yo guy now, and last couple of months was out got girls home and once they saw my hairy body they both were well turned off.
In 3 wks I've also got my dads 60th b'day to go to and I hear its in a leisure resort with spas & pools etc...so my hairy ugly body is due to get an airing again.

I've seen laser prices and they are crazy, i've shaved for last few years but it always grows back so fast. Waxing I've never done...i sounds painful, how long does it last??
I noticed recently Ryan Giggs swapped shirts after a game and he had no hair (!), 10 years or so ago when he scored prob best goal ever v Arsenal in FA Cup he was as hairy as me.

It seriously affects me, as when I am talking to a girl on night out...i know as much as she likes me, if this goes well she is going to be disgusted by my hairryness :(

Waxing lasts for about 6 weeks, but regrowth is usually finer and softer over time. Certainly I would only consider laser if you had extensive waxing costing you a fortune every six weeks. With lasering, hair can grow back after a while so its not permanent.

I wouldnt worry too much, a hairy chest /legs/arms are perfectly natural on any man, but if you wanted to get, say, your back done, well thats not too bad.

Waxing is relatively cheap, and its not too painful. I've had the brazillian waxes before and its grand. (and thats an area that is very sensitive) If you book a wax, review the salon first, and do it a week or so before your dads break to let the pinkness fade.

Unlucky to have two girls turned off in a row, but a lot of women like a hairy man so don't lose heart.

If cost is an issue, I'm sure there are salons that will give discount when being waxed by trainees.

I'm pretty hairy all over and have never had a problem from it, unless you count skinny chestwaxed boys making fun as a problem. Girls have said they didn't usually like hairy backs and things but still liked me.

It sounds more like a confidence issue, fixating a bit on one detail. Nobody's perfect.

I like a man with hair - it's manly :) You sound a little bit fixated on the issue, did these two girls expressly say they hated your body hair? And where is it, do you have exceptionally hairy shoulders or something? It's natural to have body hair. Would you think about trimming it? A lot of guys do that.

Waxing is fine. I get my Hollywood done every six weeks and I'm still here to tell the tale. So if ladies can have their sensitive ladybits done without complaint then a chestwax should be a walk in the park tbh.

If you've a low pain threshold take a couple of Nurofen Plus 45 minutes beforehand. Also, make sure to find a reputable salon in your area. Waxing is definitely the way to go if you want rid.

    What did the girls say?

Did they actually say that the hair turned them off and things stopped?

You might have been wrong that it was the hair turned them off? Sometimes we can fixate on a body issue and blame it for everything.

    It's only pain.
If this is something that is ruining your life, affecting your confidence, then suck it up & get your back done. Pop a few pain killers. Problem solved.

I understand your anxiety, but its hair ffs. Has to be one of the most fixable body issues?

When you take time to get to know a girl properly before bringing her home she will probably like you for yourself more and not mind your hairy body. Lots of girls like men hairy, the waxed boyband look doesn't do it for everyone.

If you're fit and in good shape being hairy isn't such a big deal. Personally I'd a prefer a hairy man in good shape than a less hairy man in bad shape.

    It's not that painful.

My advise would be to find somewhere that does Hot (Deplieve Wax) instead of strip wax.

And as Mighty_Mouse said, if it's bothering you that much a few minutes of pain shouldn't concern you. :)

    You're a man.
    You're supposed to be hairy.
Since shaving, laser treatment and what have you has arrived on the scene, people have started removing their hair in droves.
    Advertising truly works eh?

My hubby is hairy. But then, I'm more interested in a persons personality then whither they have some hair or not.
If a woman is so shallow as to be put off by a few hairs, then you had a lucky escape.
Be proud of who and what you are.

Pop a couple of Neurofen tablets before you get waxed and that's most of the pain taken care of.I get waxed every 6/7 weeks and apart from one particular part of the abdomen I hardly notice the pain anymore.Even if it slightly painful,it's totally worth it if it makes you feel better about yourself.

I've a ridiculously hairy back but I use tesco brand hair removal cream on my back about once a week and it keeps it nice and smooth. Only costs about 5 euro for a tube and that'd last a few weeks.

Female here. I like a bit of hair; chest etc but when it comes to backs and shoulders I think it would gross me out tbh. Maybe that's shallow but we all have our likes and dislikes. Waxing is cheaper than laser but not as permanent, more painful and will start to grow back within a couple of weeks.

OP, where are you based? Brazilia in Dublin are absolutely excellent. They do men's waxing as well - my wax therapist in there has told me before that they get quite a few men in to get waxed.

Waxing isnt exactley pleasent but its not too bad. And its afforadble and the hair grows back finer, which could be good if you went for laser in the future as it wouldnt cost as much. Re growth after waxing depends on the person but can be anything from 2-6 weeks. Personally, after about 2weeks i start to get stuble. Best of luck and just to say that if i really liked someone then hairy or not, it wouldnt bother me....so matbe you havent met the right person because somone who judges you on this isnt really the type of person you want to be with in he long run is it? Good luck an chin up

Before I got with my current boyfriend the idea of back hair probably would have been a turn off but when you fall in love with someone a bit of back hair isn't even noticeable IMO! My boyfriend is very hairy, as are his brothers. He told me one of them gets laser and the other shaves but I think a bit of body hair is manly :)
That said if you decide to wax it might be a pain as you have to let the hair grow between waxes. AFAIK, it's okay to shave between laser sessions. If it's something that's going to bother you for years to come the laser would probably be a better investment.

I'm a girl and the hairier the better IMO. I love hairy men so much I am only short of picketing outside waxing-for-men places like Brazilia.

If you wanna remove your hair do it for yourself not some preconception about what a woman will find attractive.

I wouldn't worry about it too much if I were you OP. I've quite a hairy upper body myself and I know the last few girls I was with were not bothered by it at all. In fact one of them really liked it.

Only do something about it if you are bothered by it, not some shallow girl who will disregard everything else about you just because you have some body hair. Your a man after all, you're supposed to have some!

I don't think you should do anything about it. Its just unlucky that the girls you were with didn't like it. My boyfriend is extremely hairy, back, shoulder hair the works, doesn't bother me one bit! I quite like it!

OP this is obviously something you're very sensitive about but I honestly think you might have just had a run of bad luck with those girls. Imo, a hairy man is extremely sexy, it's so masculine!
