What do you think PUA teaches?

As far as I can tell, it involves manipulation, deceit, the faking of personality traits not naturally inherent in a man, and the objectification of girls into targets, with the express purpose of getting sex at all costs.

Another thing pua fans have in common is an evangelical need to promote it for some reason.

When women are referred to as targets and men encouraged to see them one dimensionally, bad things happen to male/female interactions.

But I'm sure you'll have some sound bite to contradict that so I won't be getting into this further with you.

I always think of Tom Cruise in Magnolia when PUA is mentioned.

Anyway, isn't it banned from here?

I think a lot of it is fine, all to do with confidence building and useful, harmless tips for less socially able guys.

Then there's the more extreme versions of it, which are arguably misogynistic and creepily calculated. There also exist a lot of money making scams surrounding it, which exploit shy, lonely men.

I think there's a lot of interesting discussion to be had on it. On what's acceptable advice and what borders on being sad and creepy. Unfortunately, there exists a stigma against guys seeking help with their confidence or how to talk to and attract women.

PUA provides people with little confidence a defense.

If they use PUA techniques on a woman and they fail to get her interest then it is the system that has failed, not them.

    It's basic emotional displacement stuff.

Why, what difference does it make to you? Live your life the way you want to live it and let others believe what they want.
