I went out to th car thus evening to find the two bonnets of my car and my wifes scratched. Kids scribbles is what it looked like. So I went bull headed down the road and asked the few kids who did it. Little fella says his brother made him!! Straight away. There only 3 and 5.

So I knocked into there house and told their mother whos first reaction is " not again " and gives out to them. No offer to fix it.

Guards say they cant do anything cause of their age. All I can do is file a report for criminal damage and claim from my own insurance. Or get solicitor and bring her to court.
Really pissed. Any suggestions or should I just get my young fella to smash up her car??:mad:

Sue her. Don't promote your child to break the law. That's silly.

I feel your pain. One of the little bollixes on my road put one of my door windows in yesterday. No idea which one of the little bastards, as so many of them so often play "stone throwing" on the road it's impossible to know

The one day I didn't have it parked in the drive.. gah.

Mate, go back to the woman and tell her you want to be reimbursed. I wonder how she'd feel if the shoe was on the other foot.

You mentioned that her reaction was 'not again' when you told her, it obviously happened before and if she had had enough cop on to discipline the brats properly the first time, then your cars would be fine.

Why is a 3 year old playing out on the street???

I'd get some prices to fix. Don't go overboard but call over to her again and let her know what repairs will cost.

She has a responsibility to you to pay for damages. She has a bigger responsibility to her kids and their safety. Their age, out on the streets? Might be the wake up call she needs.

Doubt it. The type that let their 3 year old out on the street with their 5 year old sibling to mind them tend not to give a crap. I've seen younger out on my street for sure. The mind boggles. There will be no wake up call.

But to the OP.. small claims court perhaps?

Start with photographing it, then get a quote and show the quote to the mammy.

Don't get loud or angry or aggressive, just explain that her kids did it and you need to get it fixed - and therefore she needs to pay for it.
If she wants to get someone else to quote it too or know a reputable guy, fine.

As long as it gets fixed within a few weeks, otherwise the little darlings will have caused some other mischief that needs fixing.
If not then maybe go the small claims court road, it'll be hard to prove anything because they'll probably deny everything.

Be nice until it's time to not be nice.

At least you know the kids who did it! ......wait for 11 years and scratch the paintwork of their modified 2011 Micra's.....if you can hold a grudge that long........

1st thing to do is get a copy of the Garda report.
2nd thing is to get a quote for the repair.
3rd thing is to show these to the "little darlings" parent/gaurdian.

If they don't offer to pay for the repairs then threaten them with a solicitor.
