From what I've heard it's supposed to be an undulating course with two real hills at Sheephouse Lane and Red Hill Lane. Total climbing is ~7100ft so pretty tough.

Yeah it's a tough enough bike course. IIRC there's about 2,200m of climbing on the course. Sheep Lane Hill is the biggest hill, it's not that long but it does get quite steep in parts and it hurts the 3rd time around. The rest of the course is up and down, with more ups than downs (certainly that's what it felt like) and the road surface is ****e as well all leading to relatively slow bike times. Anything near 6 hrs on this course is a good result. It's also a few km's over the 180, but the swim and run are short to make up for it.

Theres a lot of info on the race at TriTalk.com

    Best of luck with it.

I raced the course this year and it is a tough course but not as scary as some make out. The swim is straightforward enough with a two loop effort in Pennigton Flash Lake. Water temperature is generally ok and visibility can be poor.
The bike is 2200mtrs of climbing and its a 20km ride out to a 3 loop course. SheepHouseLane is the main climb you do 3 times and it would be considered tough in parts. The climb itself is (from memory) about 3.5kms in distance and it is steep enough at the start levels out a bit in the middle and really ramps up +15% gradient towards the end. There are plenty of other rolling hills and generally road quality is poor. It is the type of course were it is hard to find a decent rhtym as you are constantly up and down. I completed both WW200 and IM bike leg and taking the weather elements this year out of WW200 and the extra 20km i found WW200 slightly easier.
On the run its an 8 mile slightly downhill//flattish run to a 3x6 mile loop which is essentially an out and back course into the town centre. It is essentially 3 mile uphill and back down and the total elevation is somewhere in the region of 400-500mtrs.
Tough course but plenty of hill work in your training will set you up for the day, best of luck.

why not look up "Challenge" is same as Ironman with Dot Corp but different company

it "we are triathlon" company, you can look nice weather & flat etc. they have full and half ironman

if you want flat country why not Challenge Aarhus but i am not sure if it full or half.. i know some lads going Challenge Barcelona.
