Intercooler Pipes

    Hi all,

Was looking around my engine (2.0TDi) and noticed the intercooler pipes at the end were a bit wet with oil, I overfilled the last time by about .5 litre of oil, (should have been 4.6L) and put in 5L, im not sure if this is the cause as its the first time I noticed.

Should I clean the oil off the pipes ASAP or replace them? if cleaning is an option what product could I use (i.e. WD-40?)

Also is it possible to upgrade these pipes and connections?

The pipes will be oil resistant - if you want to clean them off, I would use washing up liquid and warm water.

Not sure about the 2.0 tdi, but the 1.9s always were a bit oily. If its only a small misting, dont worry about it - if its dripping or pooling it could be a turbo problem or something else

Normal enough for a bit of oil to be there.

Thats great, I'll clean them next time im under there, its really just a misting around the clamps (?) there's no pooling at all.

    Thanks!

sometimes the seals go on them. Yes you casn usually buy intercooler and turbo inlet pipe kits. Neuspeed are good.
