    Hey,

I'm on jobseekers allowance and my office is finglas and I collect my money in Ashbourne post office. I am moving to Galway in a couple of weeks. I presume I'll be means tested again but I was wondering who do I contact. Finglas office or Galway office to tell them??? Tried ringing but no answer so will have to drop in.
    Thanks for help:confused:

You will have to go into the office in Galway with proof of address and ask for your claim to be transferred once you are resident in Galway.

But because I'm on J.A. I presume they will means test me again as my circumstances will change so I dont think it will be a simple case of transferring the payment. I presume if I go into Galway office they will notify Finglas that I've changed address????

You won't have to fill in the full JSA Form again but there is a Supplementary Form that asks about means and if your circumstances have changed to such an extent that warrants a new means test. Counter assistant should be able to tell you if you need to see an Inspector. If it's just a change of address/PO then the old assessment stands.

Did this recently.....JA not an issue for me as I was on stamps...changed my claim from Tallaght to Drogheda.......You are best to go to the office you are with now and inform them you will be moving(they will ready your file to be transported to Galway, it takes 'em ages!!) and day 1 in Galway rock up to the office there with proof of address, lease or letter from landlord, they will then request your file by internal means.....mine was very simple (no means element etc) and it still took 3 weeks to get paid!!

I was asked for proof of address (standard!)

    Good luck;)
