Hope I'm not breaking forum rules....first time posting here.

Just wondering if anyone has any info / experience of this company, they have a fairly basic website with very little info. They were doing door to door sales calls in my parents estate and got my folks to put down a €50 deposit on a digital box.

They are essentially saying to my folks that for €560 they can do away with Sky, for an extra €100'ish they can get a hard-drive with it which will do the Sky+ job.

It all seems a little dodge to me, but I don't much about these things. I'm just worried as they seem a little pushy. So I'm wondering if anybody has any experience of them, good/bad?

    Thanks in advance

They will more than likely be giving them a free to air box and a saroview box or some sort of combi of the both.

Although these channels people watch 90% of the time you wont get any of these type of channels

    Discovery,
    History,
    National Geographic
Sky 1 ( The only Sky channel you will get is Sky news)
Any of the sky sports or sky movies,
    Universal,

A FTA and saroview system is ok if people just want to watch the soaps/news couple of films on channel 4 /film 4 and the likes

It will give you the national stations and the core of the UK stations normally watched.

Find out what type of box/box's they are offering .

It seems a bit dear on the price as you say the folks have Sky already which means the dish and cabling is mainly in place and only an athena/aerial will be required for the Saroview, it would really depend on the box they are offering before I would say for sure that its overly dear .

Also the hard drive addition wont be the same as Sky + , you will be able to record a saroview station (National Irish Stations) and watch a FTA station or vice versa.

You wont be able to record something on RTE1 and watch RTE2, or in a similar vain record ITV and watch Sky news would not be possible.

Also the kit for setting up this type of combi system can be got for €174 ex, now this is not a like for like comparison as I dont know what box they will be using .

    Way too dear.
Down in wexford you'd get all that done for around 300-350 tops.
It used be 250 without the combination box and just doing analog.
    Buy it off someone else

560 is a total rip off, to put it in perspective you can buy a combi box from poland for about 80 euro delivered, then add a hard disc for about 70 = 150 euro.

i hope they declined the deposit.

Are these guys still going ?

X Wrong and Illegal use of Saorview logo on NON approved box.
X Wrong use of Freesat logo for a box that isnt Freesat approved.
X Photoshopped boxes which will not be fitted nor supplied (of a combo box with the Saorview logo - its the terrestrial approved box that they have purporting to be a so called approved combo combo)
X Charging €560 for Non Approved Equipment and Install (the equipment can be bought for less than €200 - thats €360 for installation
X Alleging that Full Sky+ facilities be offered for another €100 on top of that €560 - that €660. These boxes have one terrestrial tuner and one satellite tuner. Recording is limited and so is viewing when recording as a result. I haven't even commented on the second mux coming on and what that means for viewing whilst recording. On top of that there is NO 7 day epg for the satellite stations, only now and next and even that is glitchy on a Triax HD 537 - which is the box that they are supplying.

Glossy website. Illegal use of logos and dressed up wording to fool the ignorant. Time to call the truth police. One for Ray and the boys over @ RTENL. Snake Skin Oil ? Anyone ? Anyone ?

Thanks everybody for your feedback, didn't realise there was another similar thread, but they seem to be the same guys.

I don't know much about these things unfortunately, but I do get the impression that these guys are targeting people like my parents who are a bit older and would know nothing about these things.

There always seems to be some chancers / scumbags around!
