Have posted this on the Satellite forum, but perhaps it would be better here.....

    Hi

I have done some research into fitting a second dish to get Badr4, Astra1 and Hotbird. Already have small dish with 28E and Freesat. Or what would people recommend?

Prices of parts, especially dish and LNB's seem to vary a lot and it seems it will cost me approx €200 to do what I want, (1.1m Triax, 3 quad LNB's and holder, 4 Diseqc switchs, bracket plus cable, connectors etc.) so, I really want to know,is it worth the expense and effort????????

I am interested in English speaking stations, a bit of sport, F1, golf, and also US films and programmes, CSI's, Law and Order etc, etc, type programmes. And if possible, some natural history, discovery type.

I know there is talk of 5USA and 5* coming to Freesat so that might possibly do, but when?

    Thanks to all

    TC

Buy the buy, anyone with second hand bits to suit can PM me.

You could get a motorised system for cheaper than 200 which will service more than just those 3 sats.

You don't actually mention if you are looking for a new receiver aswell?

F1 is on ITV AFAIK so you are covered for that on your current setup, BBC show some golf and in HD.

Alot of the golf and football is encrypted though across the range of Sats, so you wouldn't be guaranteed a watch.

RTL Germany do show alot of the boxing though and is FTA.

As for American content, the terrestrial channels and UK fta have basically hovered up all the decent ones and already show them.

All the instances of Nat Geo and Discovery are encrypted aswell I think, any other documentaries will probably have a foreign voice over.
