    what's the simplest way to create a image file backup on a shared folder on the home network

    i tried redo backup but couldn't see the shared folder

    I can access the shared folder from any pc on the network in xp

    Have you checked the box to allow remote sharers to modify files ?

    Yes. Can you create other types of files ? I assume by image you mean jpg/gif/bmp/png ? Or do you mean a disk image, for backup ? Do you have enough space on the drive with the shared folder ?

    [edit]looks like you meant a backup rather than a picture. Is the drive NTFS? FAT32 has a size limit for files, 4GB I think

    redo backup is a boot cd

    i want to backup hard drive to an an mage file on shared folder on network

    I cant acess it from the program

    How is the computer you are running Redo on connected to your network? If it is a wireless connection then the Live CD may not have the correct wireless driver.

    In which case connect the machine to the router using a cable, and try again.

    No its all wired

    it doesnt find the shared folder when i search

    i was hoping someone familiar with the program could advise me how to manually do it or suggest an alternative
