Wrong quarter final & semi final tickets

I bought quarter final and semi final tickets based on the idea that Ireland would come second in the group. It's no certainty yet but it looks like there is a good chance we will top the group.

I rang the rugby world cup hotline there and they said that they have no program for exchaging tickets. how the hell does this make sense? Surely now there is loads of us out there with the wrong tickets and loads of australians with the wrong tickets too. Are we going to end up with a load of irish at the australian game and vice versa? Really annoying system. I presume there are loads of people in the same position, has anyone found a way of exchanging tickets??

Games are in the same place a day apart.

    Find some aussies and swap.

I remember loads of Irish dotted around the Millennium Stadium in 2007 when France play New Zealand. Thats the way it goes. You should be able to find plenty of Aussies in the same predicament.

I met an aussie who has one Cat A ticket to swap for same if you have a cat A PM me and I will pass on his details.

I'm going to leave this separate to the tickets thread just in case someone knows of another site for trading tickets.

However there is to be no offering of tickets on this thread, if anyone does it will be an instant ban of a month

If it works out all as planned, South Africa V Australia will be a big game. I think you will have no problem swapping, for what the locals will consider a lesser game.

Then for the Semi, you have a ticket for what should be NZ V SA/AUS. Again, that should be easily swapped. But don't offload that ticket until we are sure to be in the semi - because thats one hell of ticket to have.

Things didn't go to plan, but hey its a fantastic complaint.

Thanks lads, Yeah I know I probably will be able to swap them, just a hassle I didnt really want specially when you spend like 1500 quid on the tickets. Anyway I'll hope for the best!

Thanks dude but I'm looking for two together! All good anyway, I'll try some of the aussie rugby forums and see if anyone is looking.

    That's a toughie for me.

I'd be inclined to go see SA/AUS in a RWC quarter, regardless. I'd try hard to get a ticket for the Ireland match, with a swap as a last resort if it looked likely I'd not find a ticket.

That said, you need to be precise on the budget when you're away on such trips so an extra ticket might eat up a day's food and drink.

Get on Gum Tree NZ, there are people trading tickets there for Oct 8th & 9th matches.
