    went forr an auld stroll today up the mountains and thought i saw two hen phesants picking in the trail up ahead so hid looking for a min then decided to walk up expecting them to tear off but they didnt and then i realised they werent hens but partridge these must of been released yes ????

    Yes indeed - they are probably French, Red Legged Partridges. Theres a few knocking around the Kildare/Wicklow border near here ATM too, also released by local gun clubs.
