I just spent about two hours today going through any Asian market i could find in north dublin city centre and couldnt find any virgin coconut oil anywhere! Where do people get theirs? Preferably looking at D7/D1/D2?

I ended up with this but i take it its not quite what i need - http://www.indianspices4u.com/brands/periyar/others/periyar-cocunut-oil.html

I got some in the Health Store, they don't seem to have a branch in the City Centre.

Is extra virgin any good to you? Holland & Barrett do this one.

From searching this site and others I believe the health stores are notorious for charging an extortionate amount for it but i think i might have to go that route.

And yup i believe the extra virgin is good. just trying to get an unrefined one. Although ive just had a stir fry with the one i got and it was great! From my understanding if theres a decent coconut smell when opened its of ok quality and the one i got did have that at least

Morton's in ranelagh, just a quick word of advice, I got my first plastic tub in an asian shop in town and it was nasty with a really strong burnt coconut flavour but I only paid 3euro for it, so pay a little extra and get a nice one.

I saw extra virgin in dunnes sandyford. Can't remember the price but it was much cheaper than health food shops.

I don't think I have ever seen extra virgin in asian shops.

I got mine in Dunnes in Cornelscourt, so by looking back through the replys they seem to be in most/all Dunnes.

I picked up the cocowell stuff in my local Supervalu, have also seen it in various Tesco stores, always sold at the 4.99 mark (just in case OP doesn't have a Dunnes nearby).
