Get better at using it, thats the speed the pro's are hitting it and they are pro's and your not.

The bag , the air pressure , the swivel and the platform will have some bearing on your rebound .

    whats your set up

depends on the equipment: speed bag quality, platform thickness, swivel
set up: make sure the fattest part of the bag at mouth,
stance: hands at the chin elbows up aligned with shoulders throwing your forearms forward, shoulders loose, no need to tense up your body, arms, wrists hands
your fists fly straight from your chin to the speed bag and they come straight back to your chin, imagine it as a straight line that your fists follow, avoid rolling them... you will roll when you get your coordination and speed right.
the alignment of elbows fist and speed bag belly is the key for efficient fast work, never lift your hands up and drop them down, don't bring them behind your head, avoid big rotations or swinging around, it is a straight line motion of forearms, with no rotation of elbows, keep it tight, just flick/tip it, no power needed

one needs first to master the basic combination, the triplet (3bounce) with right stance and fist/elbows position at chin level
then you can move on to advanced combinations such as the rolling fist (1bounce), other ones called the reverse punch (2bounce), the double reverse punch (4bounce)...
the more power the more speed, but still keep it loose; also you can then show off with some fancy combos with elbows, 360 fist elbo - elbow fist punching, ... as I just said it is more to show off then :)

if you do the triplet rhythm right you should be able to roll fist after 1 week, maybe reverse punch after 2 just like our guys and kids:

    I hope it helps

    just read your post again...
the bag never touches" about 10 times" with one single hit :p, those guys' speed and coordination so good that it makes you believe that ;)
