Anyone see the nudge and wicked look Boss gave O'Gara when Sexton missed the conversion today?
Funny or what. Bit of banter I expect in the dressing room later

Reminded me of Sexton's game v South Africa in Croke Park when he was nailing everything from the tee and the camera went to O'Gara on the sideline - wry grins all round.

These guys are pros and team-mates. They can handle themselves when it comes to this kind of thing - the ability to have a bit of a giggle about what could otherwise be an elephant in the room is healthy.

I reckon it's just a bit of p!ss taking between the whole squad.

Camera shoved in O'Gara's face during Sexton's kick.

Boss was just loving it. All a bit of banter.

Do they still have "Players' court" where they fine each other nominal sums or force each other into humiliating penalties as punishment for bad misses, or hospital passes or just plain stupidity?

Bowe might have been fined for failing to score after making that interception against Australia. But Sexton would have been fined more for punching the air prematurely in finest Chris Ashton style instead of getting closer in support. If he had done instead of fanny about then we might have got a try from that.

Yeah I read recently that O'Connell was done for using his phone during dinner and ended up with whiskers and a black nose for 24 hrs. Rory Best was on the rooming committee and when some of the lads got tiny rooms in one place with beds that were like "sleeping on a box of fish fingers", he was fined too :D

I hope Leamy gets a severe fine for not passing to Cronin when Cronin would have been home and dry. That was unforgivable

I think Boss said to ROG "you wouldnt have missed it"

If he had done instead of fanny about then we might have got a try from that.

All the players were getting away from him. By the time Bowe reached the 22 he had put about 10m between himself and Sexton, not to mention the three Australian players in between them also. Bowe was never passing that and the pass never would have been on regardless in fairness.

I'm sure tour court still savaged him though. It's just not the same mid tournament though and you can't make people do drinking forfeits. We used have the white rhino where every clear spirit behind the bar (vodka, gin, sambuca etc) was put into a pint glass and you had to neck it. Best thing was to quietly slip to the toilets when someone wasn't looking a few minutes later and throw up. Oh how we laughed.

Sexton should have nailed that kick. It won't be a laughing matter if it's against France in a World Cup semi final that could win us the match. Sexton's kicking has gone to pot. The panel on RTE said you can't drop Sexton again, that it would effect his confidence or something along those lines. Rubbish! Some of his misses are brutal, and if a 10 can't kick a conversion then the 10 should be dropped until he can learn to kick a conversion. An easy conversion at that.

You do know that a 10 does more than just kick goals, right?

If D'arcy's out, how about Sexton at 10 and McFadden at 12, with McFadden kicking if Sexton is still out of sorts.

I think what he means is that Sexton is vital if we actually want to win against a top team in the semi final. You want him confident because when hes confident he pulls out performances capable of winning those games. Austalia, South Africa, England, the Heineken Cup final are all recent examples where Sexton's play raised the entire game of the team. O'Gara just cant do that, he can kick to the corners and has a flat pass but he just isn't as involved as Sexton in everything the team does. Sexton varies the attack consistently, ROG occasionally turns and passes the other way. Everything seems to flow through Sexton and we are very reliant on him to play to our best, thats why his confidence is essential.

Really with Cronins hands it was a 50/50 try at best :p
