Hey guys I just ordered a Project X 7B3 6.5 shaft for my R11. After reccommendations from several people.

Does anyone here use one if so how do they find it?

I've hit an R9 TP with it. To me it felt x-stiff with a less stiff tip. I lost a fraction of distance over my bog standard R9 with an Aldila Re-ax 60g Stiff but it minimized my bad shot (push/snap hook) from about 1 in 10 to 1 in 15 or so.

I don't really understand the Project X shaft rating system so the above is purely based on how it felt to hit.

If I was changing my driver setup I think I'd get my Pro's advice.

It has been recommended to me by two pro's. I am just looking for peoples personal experience.

Yo, ive got the PX 6.0 in my irons and love them, pretty sure the 6.5 ni the graphite driver shaft plays in between stiff an X stiff, should be a flyer, whats your swing speed

Cool got the r11 myself. You're Deffo up in the X brackets anyway yeah, its a gorgeous shaft too so at least it will look the nuts :) Ive about the same swing speed and i load it pretty hard. Have an Aldila RIP Alpha 60 X which is as stiff as ive hit, supposed to be aldilas lowest launching shaft but its still creeping up into the air on me

Thats incredible. If you got a driver to suit, and were able to produce a good ball flight, I reckon you would actually be the longest, or one of the longest hitters in Ireland. Definitely.

    I mean, you must be 200y carry w/ 6iron, and 175y carry w/ 8iron?

Sorry btw, i dont mean to open up this conversation again and start an argument about who hits what and how far.

Im merely pointing the OP towards achieving the results that his speeds should produce, particularly if he is around scratch

Very doubtful, very hard find places around with shafts like these to just test out

My point being Tones69 is why would you order a shaft you have never hit especially on recommendations from people. You have to try these things before you commit and buy. If it does not suit your snookered. The shaft in question would be a x-stiff and not for everybody.

Well, he says his speed with driver was 119mph, which is pretty much as hard as woods' average in his prime (i think he was about 122mph), and powerful enough to be in the top 6 or 7 long hitters on the pga tour. So i dont think he would have an issue with the x flex shaft!! In fact, x flex would be essential.

However i do agree with the general idea here of the few posts suggesting to try b4 u buy, even though it can be awkward to find a demo of the desired club spec, because buying it cold is risky. Particularly when spending that sort of money on a specific club which greatly loses its value at time of purchase
