    Sorry guys,

    Not great at irish.

want to name a trophy along the lines of the sam Maguire.

Like the idea of "Everlasting Friendship Cup."

On Sam Maguire saw word Chorn - was expecting corn.

Besides anybody want to give it a go.

getting it done in Irish writing.

    Go raibh mile maith agat.

"Corn" is a masculine noun, so it shouldn't have a séimhiú, unless I'm terribly mistaken.

You'd be looking for something like "Corn Chairdis Buan", I think.

Actually, that "buan" might need a séimhiú. I'm still not 100% sure on how adjectives work in the Tuiseal Ginideach! :o So it might be Corn Chairdis Bhuan.

Don't take that as your answer until someone with more expertise than myself verifies it for you.

    Sam maguire starts

    Buan Chorn ?

    Anyway I'm saying

I'm fairly sure that was an inscription error. It might have been correct if they'd spelt it "buanchorn" (all one word) as a compound noun. But, as it is, the cup has the adjective before the noun as a separate word. That's not the correct syntactical arrangement for Gaeilge.

Best of luck with the search anyway.

God this is hard, can understand how they may have got it wrong on Sam. I could be like Posh and Becks (tattoo) if i get it wrong.

Anyway - would love it to be in Irish - the only way i can improve is if i try.
