Driver Lie Angle?

I have recently had the lie of my standard length Callaway irons changed from 2 to 4 degrees flat from 3 to LW respectively.
With such a big change in lie angle I am starting to wonder the consequences of having a driver with an incorrect lie.
I haven’t checked my driver lie yet but I know my shaft is abt ½ inch longer than normal and I grip the club near the butt end of the club. With this in mind I am therefore assuming it is really toe up..
What impact would the driver lie angle have on your game and is it something to consider.
With the shallower loft on this club I suspect it might not matter too much but am only guessing.
PS 6ft 1”. Just play the ball a little away from me and prefer a flatter swing
    Any thoughts anyone

    Hi,
As the ball is teed up it does not make any difference the lie angle only makes a difference when u are coming into contact with the ground.

Thats not completely true mike but their is an element of lie angle and the contact with the turf but thats not really the reason people have their lie angles adjusted, contact with the turf is somewhat irrelevant when it come to ball flight as the ball is gone before contact is made.

Actually lie angle dose effect the alignment of the club, the effect is more obvious with more lofted clubs bur still evident with drivers. If a club is too up right (toe off the ground) it tends to start the ball left with hook spin, and too flat tend to start it right with slice spin.

These effects are pretty insignificant with the driver in reality but exist all the same, a good way to gauge the effect would be to grab a wedge and lift the toe up (or heel up) while keeping the leading edge facing the target. The effect is a bit more obvious when you look at it like that.
