    earliest match thread ever?

yeah can't see stevie starting after what kenny said the last day
We will just continue in the intelligent manner that we have done. We can look forward to him getting even fitter. There will be no timescale or programme, we'll just take it as it comes

but hopefully we start a run of wins now be great getting early wins over everton and utd

I see us scoring early and maybe getting 2/3 and more than likely conceding at the end of the game as per usual!

    Not even close.

Hopefully we can put in a good performance and get the win. I'm heading over to it, so hopefully it won't be a repeat of this home game last year.

3-1 to Liverpool...get the feeling Suarez might start on the bench so hopefully things are wrapped up before he is introduced and we are not left relying on him.

Kickoff 3 pm Saturday 24th September at Anfield.

Both clubs come in on the back of 2 consecutive league defeats.

I can't see Steven Gerrard starting. Another 30 mins is likely in my opinion to ease his way back in.

Martin Skrtel and Charlie Adam are available again after serving one match bans in the Carling Cup.

Glen Johnson is still out as is Daniel Agger with broken Ribs.

Kevin Foley (ankle), Jody Craddock (hamstring), Ronald Zubar (groin) and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake (knee) are all injured for Wolves.

    How they might line up:

Liverpool: Reina, Kelly, Skrtel, Carragher, Enrique, Lucas, Adam, Bellamy, Downing, Kuyt, Suarez.
Wolves: Hennessey, Stearman, Johnson, Berra, Elokobi, Kightly, Henry, O'Hara, Jarvis, Ward, Doyle

Carragher hat trick of own goals in a 3-3 draw

LFC need a win, simple as that, Wolves at home should be three points wrapped up nice and early. 2-0 win

Thats what you would've said last season adn Wolves came and outplayed Liverpool, playing some of the best attacking football I've seen at Anfield in quite some time

true but different team and outlook in fairness this year. Still looking for a good win going to the Everton game and onto UTD... Springboard for a few good results

I think Henderson will start against Wolves

Its a big game for liverpool,
We need to be up for the game from the off.
the wolves midfield like to tackle but are not the best at tracking runner from midfield so if we going to win that where the goal will come from.

Im have a funny feeling that Dowling will be the most important player for liverpool tomorrow, If he plays well we will win.

I've missed the last two League game cause i have away, Looking forward to this one. :-)

Not really, mothers family club* will have to be happy with nothing tomorrow.

The line up is going to be interesting so many possibilities in attack esp if Gerrard is fit to start (doubtful)

I think its a lottery at this stage at who Dalglish will play. I think he will start Gerrard. His fitness will still be there despite his 6 month ban injury.

With Everton and ManU on the horizon, I'm hoping Kenny uses this match to assess his options. Maxi, Kuyt and Bellers all put in a good show during the week. We already know what Henderson offers in the league so far, I think this will be the chance for Maxi and Bellers in particular. Kuyt i think is a shoe in for the following two games regardless.

Rumoured team on RAWK. Disappointed (if line up is correct) not to see Bellamy or Coates starting in place of Henderson and Skrtel
    Reina
    Kelly
    Skrtel
    Carra
    Enrique
    Adam
    Lucas
    Henderson
    Kuyt
    Downing
    Suarez

Suarez and Downing to score in a 2-1 victory. Matt Jarvis to cause problems and also score a late consolation

A solid win - 3-0 would be very nice but any kind of win will do.

Very surprised Henderson is getting a game. Also surprised to see Carroll isn't when he didn't play against Brighton.

Confirmed Liverpool XI: Reina - Kelly, Carra, Skrtel, Enrique - Henderson, Lucas, Adam Downing - Suarez Carroll

Bloody hell that looks lumpy. I'd ask about the subs but Dalglish doesn't seem to be willing to use the bench in a pro-active fashion.

Gotta be starting kuyt or bellamy over Henderson

    Good to get Kelly back

    Look at that bench:

subs: Doni, Gerrard, Bellamy, Coates, Flanagan, Kuyt, Spearing

    LOOK AT IT

    Yeah....it's missing Henderson and Carroll.

Hopefully we'll look back in 2 years and be glad we persevered with Henderson when he was misfiring and blending into the team. Yes, Kuyt should start ahead of him, but hopefully he'll do the business today.

Very big game for Henderson, Adam and Carroll. I hope Kenny recognises that as well.

Henderson will probably come good eventually, but I can't stand this policy of perservering with players who aren't producing the goods. It's almost ageist. Pick the man, not the name. Kenny says no player is bigger than the team, then why not bench these lads. It's a squad game, you need to give your all every week or risk a spell on the sidelines. Mourinho would've benched him

All the calls for Carroll and Henderson to be dropped are over the top to be honest.
A home game against an off-form Wolves should be ideal for them to perform well.

Carroll needs more game time and also needs good service to give him a chance which he hasn't gotten in fairness.

Henderson comments remind me of when Lucas first made team and look at him now.
Remember Kuyt was very ineffective against Stoke when we lost.

Calls for Henderson to be dropped are not over the top. You should have to earn a place in the team, not just be given it no matter what. Lucas never played hide and seek during a match though.

Well Kenny & Co see him every day in training and must have faith in him, I don't think his place is guaranteed but if he's struggling then good management would be to get his confidence up and not just dump him on scrapheap like a lot call for here.

Do they now? And people wonder why I'm always clashing with this guy...

Lucas got all that game time because we had no depth in the squad. He would've still become the player he is without playing as many games early on.

Henderson and Adam will probably do well today because it's only Wolves. Basically, Murph's policy is that we stick with new players no matter how bad they are. We must continue to play them every week and eventually after 2 or 3 years they will be top class.

We need to use the squad to greater affect. It's bad for morale to have favouritism. Obviously Henderson hasn't earned his stripes.
