Any way to monitor external HD temperature

Basically looking for a way to find out what temperature my external hard drive is running at. The fan was making way too much noise so i plugged it out. Nice and quiet now, doesn't feel hot at all, but want to be sure.

Everest is a handy utility that can tell you all you need to know about your system, including HDD temp. Bear in mind that some USB controllers (the chip in the external harddrive that converts it to a USB connection) may not support temperature monitoring.
