Would ombre hair work with demi/semi permanent hair dye?

No, I don't see how it would. You can't lighten your hair with semi-permanent dye.

If you like to try it out before you get it done you could try buying a coloured hairspray and use that to get the effect. They do a blonde-ish one in Claire's, I used it for Halloween last year. It comes out more yellow-gold than blonde, but it should give you a bit of an idea.

I really doubt that would work. As far as I know, you need to lighten your ends so it involves bleach. A semi just wouldn't do it. I actually have ombre hair and yeah, I used bleach. If you don't like, you can just dye over it.
