Entry to Dublin marathon is now closed. Selling, swapping, bartering, begging, borrowing, stealing, knitting, donating or otherwise trading race numbers is NOT ALLOWED in this forum. Your posts will be deleted. Save us all some trouble and don't even try.
    *********

Every year, as Dublin marathon gets closer, the main page of this forum gets swamped with marathon-related questions. Questions about the event - where to park/stay/sleep afterwards, about the course, about the pacers - or about their training.

This year we'll do our best to keep the posts contained to four threads

The main event thread - for questions about the race itself (and the 'call your time' table, and for posting results up during/after)

The novice marathoner's training thread - if you are a first time marathoner and you have a question about your training, about whether you should run, or just a newbie question that you'd rather not ask in the main thread :) - look in here. Your question may already have been answered, and if you post a new question someone will reply. There are lots of novices in here, and plenty of more experienced runners to offer advice.

The 'improvers' thread - for runners who have already run one or more marathons, and are looking for a better time this autumn.

The seasoned runners thread - for people who have seen it, done it, and have more t-shirts than they know what to do with.

If new threads are started in the main forum I'll be moving them to whichever of these I think is best suited.
