Is it just me or does anybody else think the prices been charged for food etc in WIT is expensive across the board. Supposedly looking after the student, i think not more like looking after the profits. There isn't even microwave or anywhere to heat food if you to bring in something yourself. They have wasted 00's of euro I am sure I stupid new signage and logos for campus services, when they could be improving the standards.

Ahh the drink is cheap enough now ;)
It's no masons or the foundry, but it's reasonable.
Sure the giant sperm were giving out free condoms today too, so all is forgiven :p
A microwave would cause insurance problems, so not likely to happen.
Most importantly, alot of the food tastes like sh!t anyway, so even if it was cheaper I still wouldn't think of buying it!

We're getting robbed with the pool tables though and the gym is a fairly desperate attempt of just being able to say there's one on campus!

Campus Services = Private company, they are there to make a profit.

U seriously think €1.50 is expensive for a nice bowl of soup and a roll and for a nice dinner you pay a max of about €6.50. Sure they even do meals for €3.

The only thing which may be expensive is salad but that is same everyplace.

If you think that is expensive - never visit any restaurant in town for dinner.

Overall WIT would be one of the most reasonable and nicest food in college. I know for a fact UL is very expensive and food awful down there.

While food in WIT is mostly nice and you have 5 different places to eat serving a whole range of food.

Reason you cannot bring in food is Health and Safety - alot of places have this and in todays "sue-anyone" society they have to protect themselves and others.

In my opinion food is very expensive in the college, take a chicken fillet roll for example (the ones in WIT have a very small amount of filling), do you think 4.35 is reasonable? I don't think so, most delis charge between 3.50 & 4 euros for a chicken fillet roll and they wouldn't have the amount of customers as the gallery. My brother is in DIT and he says a chicken fillet roll with a can of coke is 4 euros, he couldn't believe the price of food etc. in WIT. In general I do find the college expensive for other things too. If I want supplies such as A4 pads or pens I'll just go up the road to Tesco as its cheaper.

I've never seen anyone told to leave any of the canteens because they have their own food, lots of my friends including myself from time to time, bring in packed lunches & eat them in the gallery.
