Power adapter for home studio

    Hello all!

Appologies if this is in the wrong place...

But I have a home music studio (it's really a laptop plus monitors) and lately I was getting a ground loop hum. I was talking to an electrician friend of mine who recommended that I start off by getting a surge protected multi adapter first, and then go from there.

I was running a 4 plug adapter from a 4 plug adapter which is always a bad idea. Also I was using all the sockets so I didn't help my case.

He recommended a surge protected 8 plug adapter but the problem is that my setup is 5m from the nearest power point. I was looking online for a 6m (or more) version but the longest one I've found is 4m.

Can anyone recommend somewhere that I could try? I've searched eBay, marlins, Argos...lots of places but so far nothing. Maybe it was my search parameters... "plug adapters" etc...

Thanks everyone. If my own searches reveal anything I'll post them back here for future curious viewers.
    Thanks!
