Did it show that it was on Youtube or did they just download the video?

This is just a wild stab in the dark but is it possible that by uploading videos to youtube their terms have you relinquish ownership of the video? It seems like something google would do...

    YouTube Terms of Service

7.2 You retain all of your ownership rights in your Content, but you are required to grant limited licence rights to YouTube and other users of the Service. These are described in paragraph 8 of these Terms (Rights you licence).

    8. Rights you licence
8.1 When you upload or post Content to YouTube, you grant
to YouTube, a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable licence (with right to sub-licence) to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display, and perform that Content in connection with the provision of the Service and otherwise in connection with the provision of the Service and YouTube's business, including without limitation for promoting and redistributing part or all of the Service (and derivative works thereof) in any media formats [and through any media channels]
Technically you still own the footage, but assuming that TV3, or the production company got permission from Google then they can pretty much do whatever they want with footage you upload to YouTube.

Also if it's a news or educational show (I dont watch tv3) there seems to be a fair usage policy that allows them under copyright law, though that might just be american law, Im no expert here!

It still seems bad form not to give credit though or at least ask and perhaps you could contact the show and express your disappointment with them that they may learn to handle the situation better.
