    Yeah i think the have ESPN on freeview later on in the year, they do the same with one of the movie channels.

    If i record off sky sports over the free weekend would i be able to view them on monday?

    No, you wouldn't be able to Paul. You can only watch recordings of channels you are currently subscribed to.

    Not sure about that. The last couple of times they had a "Free Sky Movies" weekend it was possible to record the movies and watch them for weeks after. I think the content protection is set in the stream as it's broadcast, and for playback from a recording it is the content protection parameters within the recorded stream that are checked against.

    So on a free weekend, your recordings would say "Who can watch? - Everyone".

    Whereas normally it might say "Who can watch? - Sky Movies subs only", so if you have a movies sub, you record, and then subsequently unsubscribe, your recorded vides would still say "Who can watch? Sky movies subs only".

    I still have a film I recorded last time , can watch it without a problem, Its a HD movie ,
    I dont have a movie or HD sub.

    Added sky sports to the package yesterday and totally forgot about this!

    I was only telling people about it earlier in the week, oh well
