It's really week 5 but since the first gameweek was postponed due to the strike we are a week behind.

    Tuesday September 20 - Day 5
20 Sep, 19:00 Real Sociedad 1 - 0 Granada CF Anoeta, San Sebastián - Estradra scored in the 64th min to give Sociedad the 3 points
20 Sep, 19:00 Osasuna 0 - 0 Sevilla FC Estadio Reyno de Navarra, Pamplona
20 Sep, 21:00 Villarreal CF 2 - 0 RCD Mallorca El Madrigal, Villarreal - Rossi (8') and Nilmar (52') scored to give Villarreal the 3 points

    Wednesday September 21 - Day 5
21 Sep, 19:00 Málaga CF v Athletic Bilbao Estadio La Rosaleda, Málaga
21 Sep, 19:00 Atlético Madrid v Sporting Gijón Estadio Vicente Calderón, Madrid

21 Sep, 19:00 Rayo Vallecano v Levante UD Vallecas, Madrid
21 Sep, 19:00 Racing Santander v Real Madrid El Sardinero, Santander
21 Sep, 21:00 Valencia CF v FC Barcelona Mestalla, Valencia

    Thursday September 22 - Day 5
22 Sep, 19:00 RCD Espanyol v Getafe CF Estadio Cornellá-El Prat, Cornellà de Llobregat
22 Sep, 21:00 Real Betis v Real Zaragoza Estadio Benito Villamarin, Seville

Valencia Vs Barcelona is live on Sky Sports 3 from 9pm on Wednesday, it should be a pretty good game, Valencia sit joint top of the table with Real Betis with three wins out of three plus they have the leagues joint top scorer in Roberto Soldado so they should give Barcelona a good game.

The game at the Mestalla is by far the standout fixture. It is not a fixture for any experimentation by Guardiola at the best of times, never mind their early season form.

Interesting game at La Rosaleda and Vallecano too.

Sorry, didn't see that this was made.

Soldado scored 5 goals in 3 games in the league so far, I think he will be very dangerous.

It's a small point and doesn't matter either way, but technically it's week 5. Week 1 will be played later in the season (not sure when).

Arbeloa and Varale are being touted to start with Real Madrid.

    Real Madrid XI:

Iker; Arbeloa, Carvalho, Varane, Marcelo; Xabi, Lass; Callejón, Özil, Cristiano; Benzema.

Bench: Adán, Ramos, Albiol, Granero, Di María, Kaká & Higuaín

    Racing Santander XI:

Toño; Francis, Alvaro, Bernardo, Christian; Tziolis, Diop, Jairo, Serrano; Ariel, Stuani.
    =========

After the loss at Levante Mourinho was criticized for playing Di Maria even when he was off form, interesting he is not playing tonight.

Interesting how Mourinho started with Varane over the likes of Albiol, has he ever given Albiol a decent run in the team?

Pretty poor from Real thus far.

I can remember getting a good run before, but I think it was under Pellegrini

For the 2nd half, I hope the bench makes a difference. Kaká and Higuaín looks dangerous. I wouldn't say they were poor, there was a span of less than 5 minutes in which 3-4 legit chances were created.

    Valencia XI:

Guaita Miguel, Rami, Victor Ruiz, Mathieu, Albelda, Banega, Tino Costa, Pablo Hernandez; Piatti & Soldado

    Barcelona XI:

Valdés, Alves, Mascherano, Puyol, Abidal, Xavi, Keita, Busquets, Messi, Pedro & Cesc

I see Puyol, Villa, Messi, Xavi aren't on the bench :D

Atletico beating Sporting Gijon 3-0 at the min. Falcao got the third goal, he is starting to repay the 40 million they spent on him.

Santi Cazorla has Malaga 1 up against Bilbao.

Levante are winning 2-1 away to Rayo Vallecano thanks to goals from Ballesteros and Valdo . Tamudo got Rayos goal.

2nd game in the week where we faced a load of divers. It really does bring down the game.

Having said that our attacking play has been ****e. Atleticó beat Racing 4-0 earlier in the week, Atleticó look like they'll win the league more at this stage.

In fairness di Maria is one of the worst divers in the game.

Can you tell me a time he dived blatantly this season? (apart from the sarcastic dive against Levante after they dived about 100000000 times)

Plus may I say these are teams of divers we faced.

EDIT: Rob Palmer on FFS. The Messi riding/anti Madrid bias will start.

I wonder what's going on with Real, they were utter fúcking rubbish tonight. I usually take what the guys on Revista say with a pinch of salt but reports of a split in the dressing room might be accurate.

His record of goals from free kicks is actually extremely poor .
78 direct free kicks last season of which only 5 resulted in goals.6.4% success rate.
40 were blocked by the wall and only 18 hit the target.
Cristiano Ronaldo took 53 free-kicks last season in La Liga; no other player attempted more than 18.

Most Madrid fans I've spoken to IRL or another forum I more frequent say likewise. Always ranting about his antics, and rightfully so.

It's a bit of a waste considering Real have players like Pepe, Carvalho and especially Ramos who are very good at getting their heads to balls in the box. Ramos scores alot of goals from corners for a right back. They should try and pick out players more.

The season is three and a bit games old FFS! He's an embarrassment and his antics are well known. The fact he has kept his shorts clean for couple of games doesn't alter the fact that he has form.

I'd appreciate if the topic didn't dwelve into whether or not Di Maria is a diver. Watch the two last Real Madrid opponents if you want to see a lesson on diving.

2 goals in a short period of times in Valencia.
