Is this a moulting Mallard?

    Or maybe it's a juvenile. The pale colour is really what makes me question the id. The absence of the speculum makes me think moulting.

    Definitely abnormally pale.

    With mallards, you never know what they or their ancestors have been 'dating', so farmyard fowl genes are always possible.

    That or 'leucism' - a deficiency of pigment, but I think its an ordinary Mallard besides
