I got a new system for my car today and its a total nightmare to fit, I have done typical systems before without a problem, including amp sub ect.

this one literally fits the dash, no amp, no sub, no reverse camera ect to start with, so I thought it would be easy enough.

I got it installed, to start with and the screen keeps saying its off for my safety, it only has sound, but no picture both driving and stopped,

anyone know how to over ride this?
im not going to be watchin it while driving, but I will eventually be installing two monitors in the back and would like it to be on too for front passenger.

I got the correct conversion for my existing cables (focus) but the steering wheel controls are not working?

finally, im considering getting an external hard drive for music and movies, do I need a mulitmedia player or just a normal external hard drive?

a wire (green with a white stripe usually but check) that says p.brake / parking brake on it . If you want to do it properly attach it to the switch inside your handbrake mechanism , if you want to just override the system run that to a ground point

steering wheel controls you need a stalk interface for , dynamicsounds.co.uk or a few irish places have them

hard drives are a tricky one with car stereos, first you only need a normal one, but get one of the larger desktop drives with its own power source as the usb socket on the stereo wont power most self-powered drives. all the seagate ones take 12v external power so perfect for the car

To connect it to the hand brake that means though if im driving its idle?
For the cable thats to earth it yes?
im just askin because I was trawling the internet and seen on an american forum that their opinion was to connect it to a random power source? What ever that means

With the hard drive, was wondering because the multimedias would need a seperate power source, is the 12v powered by the radio or through the car lighter?

This is the stalk interface online,
    http://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/ford-fiesta-mondeo-focus-cmax-steering-wheel-control-stalk-interface-adaptor-p-10491.html

I actually have a piece similar to this, only thing is there is no connection for the extra cable?

The focus has one block connection, splts into 3 but there are only two outputs on the back of the radio?

the end with the thick black box on it has to have something like this plug in http://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/autoleads-pc99son-sony-stereo-patch-lead-steering-control-adaptors-p-15075.html
