My 96 e34 520i has been off the road since February, oil leak at the rear of engine. Some enquiries but no takers. Need it gone so rang a few dismantlers, they want me to drive it to them, can't see it leaving the estate.

Anyone I can call who will collect (for free)? In the North Cork area.

How bad is the oil leak? A '96 E34 should be reasonably reliable, being the very last year it was made.

Put it on Donedeal or adverts with pictures and discription for €200 no offers and it should go

The oil is dripping onto the exhaust and the coolant pipes are solid. Head gasket issue and bolts are famous for pulling the thread when coming out.

Ad now gone (too old), may put it back up if this generates interest.

I'm assuming you had it down as free to take away?

Was looking for some cash but it will be free to take away.

If its rough bodywise, I can understand the lack of interest.
If its tidy, you should get a few bob for it.

Breakers will take the car away and give you circa 150 euro for the privilege. Scrap is pretty valuable at the moment. Give them a call - if the first crowd don't collect, they should point you to someone who does. Check ads on Gumtree for scrappers looking for cars.

    +1.

Breakers in the north-east are giving €200 for a mid sized car if you deliver it, purely for the scrap metal value, so you should get €150 for it easily.
