    Got a lot of texts regarding a car I am selling from this guy,he has emailed me with this :confused: is this legit

    Be careful. Stolen cards have been used to make these payments which you find out about after youve turned over the goods. So you risk being charged if you dont pay it back. Tell him to paypal his mate so he can draw the cash. Otherwise take a pass.

    Tell him you work on an oil rig near him too and you regularly take the car with you. Maybe he could swim over from his oil rig to yours at the weekend and have a look at the car before he buys. :D

    Here's the scam...

    He offers to buy the car for £1200... "no shipping".

    You accept. All of a sudden he can't collect it but an agent can.. If you pay £200 to the "agent", he'll now pay you £1400 for the car.

    All looks grand till you find his £1400 fund was charged back or something and you are now down 200 quid.

    But you PAID HIM £200 of your own free will - Paypal won't care.

    ...or some such caper/variation.
