Ok guys I know I've posted on this board alot and I got great help, but I need your help once again :o

Ok so the thing is I bought a laptop from saveonlaptops.co.uk and they were grand, so I recommended them to a friend :) So I decide that, having some prior experience dealing with them that I will go and set everything up so long as he uses his own credit card.

So we buy a laptop and later on in the week it gets declined and the money gets refunded (20e short) keep in mind that this was directly through the credit card, now I emailed them up and I got a response saying "Good Afternoon,

This order has failed a security check which has meant that the order was cancelled and refunded due to anti-fraud measures. You may need to contact your bank for more information."

What does this mean exactly? Should I just use my own card?? This really is frustrating

Any advice would be much appreciated :)

Have you contacted your bank? Youd be surprised at the proactive measures the eagle eyed men in the credit card division can take - order something where you havent ordered before, or suddenly for a large amount and they can jump in quick as a flash to stop your card until its clarified that its you. Weird but true. Ring them and check theres no issue with your card.

Other than that, most websites will use their own security measures. You might check with them and see if theres alternative means of payment such as bank transfer etc. Query them on the 20 euro as well - they might not be obliged to return it, but if its the difference between you going somewhere else or buying something from them they might at least knock it off the price of your purchase.
