How can I get this effing UPC box to turn on...?

I'm getting regularly frustrated with the UPC DVR box. It goes to sleep, showing only the time on the front and no matter what button you press on the remote or on the box itself, it will not awake. The only solution seems to be a power cycle.

That's before I'd get into the awfully slow UI...

The big upc button on the top of the remote turns it on for me. You can change the sleep timer in the settings menu btw.

Did you try turning it off by the switch at the back or unplugging it for 5 mins. Then re-set if/when it comes on.

I think if you go to min menu > settings > power settings you can turn off the "switch to standby when inactive".
My main box goes off during the night, pressing UPC wakens it, but it takes a minute or so to "wake up fully"

Possibly it might be that it needs a few minutes to wake, otherwise none of the buttons on the remote nor the box actually turn it in bar the power switch.
