so which would be more fuel efficient

    1. thermostat set for 21 degrees at set times for example 6 to 8 in the morning, 5 to 11 in the evening, and lower temp of 17 degrees at other times
    2. or set to 19 for the full day...

does it use more fuel for the boiler to heat from 17 to 21 , than it does to maintain the lower temp...
i wouldnt imagine thered be much in it but im just curious..
with the price of kerosene it could be handy to know..

I have never been a fan of leaving a system running at low temperature. Your heating system should get the property up to temperature within 30 minutes, so I would set it to come on 30 minutes before you need it and the thermostat temperature is dependant on what the user feels comfortable with but the lower it`s set the cheaper it will be.
