In before 'cost to change'! :)

It all depends on the value of what you are trading in your car against. Have you anything in particular in mind? If your car passes the NCT you would be better off selling it privately then doing a straight deal on the new car.

get a trade in value and report back here.

you could be better off selling it yourself

I would say for the kind of deal you would get on the above mentioned cars it would not be worthwile trading in.If you do the maths your car is worth say 1k and the mazda worth say 2.5k then dealer will prob at best offer you 7 for yours then expect you to pay 2.5k where as if you sold yours got 1k then went to dealer with cash you could probaply get your new car for 2.2k .

The easiest way to calculate what you should be getting as a trade-in value is to add the trade value of your car to the cash discount on the car you're buying.

You will actually be worse off financially by trying to trade in a 12 year old car. Most large dealerships will give you very little for it as they sell them straight on at trade prices to smaller dealers because it is too costly to offer a warranty on them at that age. Anything they will offer you for it will be less than if you went in and asked for a straight deal discount on the new car.

If the Corsa has a fresh NCT and has no issues then you will get more for it by selling it privately, tidy small cars with a decent NCT sell easily enough.
