Just wondering have many on here been fitted for a putter?

If yes, was it worth it?

Surely even the hardiest equipment freak must deep-down realise that putting is all about your hands, and not what's in them.

There really is a market for anything in golf.

This would be like a darts player getting custom-fitted for arrows, instead of just throwing at a few different weights until they feel comfortable with one.

I did it in Leopardstown a couple of years back, think it cost me about €50. I got an existing putter I had fitted. Got fitted with a way shorter putter length than normal, which didn't work for me. It hugely improved my long putting, but killed me inside 6 feet. That said, I've seen people it has worked wonders for, particularly where they liked out of the ordinary stuff that wasn't available to try in off the shelf putters, like an unusually high swing weight, etc. If you're going to get it done, make sure you agree with the fitters idea of putting though. Some are die-hard straight back and through, eyes directly over ball, etc. They should be fitting to fit the way you putt, not changing anything about your putting stroke.

On another note, I found going to a mid-sized grip did wonders for my putting. Trying different grips can make you putter feel like a different club each time, so it's a cheap way to experiment with what you want.
