    Hi all,

I am thinking about trading in my golf for a commercial jeep but I do a lot of driving with work. I get about 55 miles to the gallon with my diesel golf. Is there any jeeps out there that do the same?

In terms of proper full size 4x4s no not really, you shouldn't buy one fuel economy is a big concern as they're big and heavy, as well as having gearboxes/diffs etc that are heavier duty and take more effort to put power through.

Some aren't particularly "bad" on fuel considering what they are, but you could never properly compare one to a tdi golf, totally different type of vehicle.

No full size 4x4 will get anywhere near that. I had a D40 Navara 2.5dci and even with the most gentle, steady 100kmh driving in 2wd mode it could barely top 35mpg.

a jeep doing anything above 35 would be a godsend but alas 35 is about the best your going to get in anything with propper 4wd capabilities

if you find one let me know,

jeeps are (should be) in a different class than vans or cars, for towing or off road work

Why is it you want a jeep ? Do you need the load space or something ?

If there wasn't a good reason I'd just stick with what you have - you will not match the fuel consumption and incur costs in changing

Depending on where you live you could also have hassle keeping the commercial tax, paying ~€1300 motor tax with sub 30mpg will make driving a badly handling vehicle all the worst.
