Hi Ladies, Iv been considering getting hair extensions put in to treat myself for my birthday.I have really fine hair that i hate, and iv tried everything to thicken it up over the years but nothing has worked so im thinking I might just bite the bullet and get the extensions in for length and volume give me a confidence boost!-but i am kinda concerned it could make my own hair come out more when the time comes to remove them.any advice would be much appreciated!thanks:)

I just took my extensions out the other day, I was the same as you very thin hair, my hair was already long so I just got them for the volume, I was also really afraid that I'd be left with no hair after them but my hair was totally fine after (I had microbead ones) Only reason I dont have them anymore is cos i moved to Oz) Wish i could go home n get my hairdresser to do them again cos she's great at them!

But anyway in my experience no they don't ruin your hair, I have no experience with the glue in ones thoug, I'd imagine they would wreck your hair.

The glue in ones seem to but in my experience the micro rings do not. However, when you get them out, you will see a some of your hair fall out. When your hair is attached to the extension, it can't naturally shed as it's stuck. All the hairs attached to the extension that detached from the root will fall out at once when they are removed so you'll see more hair falling out than you might expect. Hope I've explained that well!

I had glue in extensions many moons ago and they destroyed my hair! Stay well clear! I've heard good think about the micro ring extensions, just make sure you go to a reputable place where they will be put in and taken out properly!

This is what i suggest. Look up micro loop extensions, they're not bad for your hair, costs a good bit to get em put in but, they're great. I use clip in ones and sure, they're fine :)

Dont get them glued in, ruins your hair and can be sore and itchy, also a real pain to get out. Iv had the micro bead, glue and also had them plaitted into my hair, weave style. Out of all this was definatley best-as long as its not done too tight. And id put the micro bead in second place, only thing i didnt like about it was it was a little obvious looking. Good luck, and make sure you get someone reputable to do it who is using good quality hair as the quality of hair used varies greatly from hair dresser to hair dresser. Some claim it to be 100% human when its more like 95% nylon -similar to barbie doll hair, brush it a few times and its goes frizzy and absloutley awful looking. Get someone with reccomendations.

Hey.. Emmm the people that put them in through weave, braid? i'll have short hair soon cause at the moment getting ready to model for a hairdressing competition. Would short layers cover the weave though? not boy short, just like.. rihanna pixie hair short? even a bit longer.. And can i get some details on them? Can you use your own extensions?

hi, the afro carribean shops do them, thats where iv had it done anyway, on one on moore street. It depends on how short you hair is but the braids are quite skinny so id say that style of cut would cover it. The main thing is that the extensions are the same colour as your hair so you wouldnt be able to notice it like you do with the beads. Imo anyway. Yes they do be braided in, and it looks very natural. The hair most of these shops sell is of very poor quality, or thats been my expreience anyway so i asked one of the women to braid my own extensions in and she did. She only charges 10 to do this and it was well worth it.
