    Hi guys,

I found this button today on the Dublin market and because price was good, I decided to get it. Does someone knows what unit putton it is or is it Police, etc?

    Regards,

    Timo

Hi, it's an Irish Volunteers button. I bought one recently off ebay which never arrived, I think there were different manufacturers in different periods but that one looks ok to me (open to correction on that).

    Hi Morlar,

Thanks! I found it now here:

    http://www.theeasterrising.eu/120Volunteers/NV.htm

As I said, I just picked it up because I kind a liked it and it didn't cost much. If yours from ebay don't show up, I can let go mine, when we meet up next time;).

    Thanks again,

    Timo

You are correct - I checked today and Irish Army continued to use letters "IV" on the buttons with the harp. Mine is probably from 50s-70s.

    Thanks guys who helped!

its basically the same button as was used in 1916. These days while the design is identical they tend to be staybright.
I have a heap of them at home from different periods. You could check when the DF were using the Birmingham company.
