    Hello all,

Just wondering if anyone has done this course or has heard anything about it? Would love to do a jewellery making course but have to say that going by the pics on their website the pieces they make wouldn't necessarily be my style. That said, everyone's taste is different and it's the technical aspect I'm interested in so am just wondering if it would be a good course for a newbie.

Alternative suggestions very welcome. Have had a look through the courses post but couldn't see anything.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

I haven’t actually done one of their courses, but I did enquire with them about it before. I ended up doing a course at ‘beads n bling’ instead (just across the road from yellow brick road) primarily because they supply everything for the lesson whereas yellow brick road said that they expect you bring some of your own supplies along. As a beginner I had no supplies, so beads n bling was the obvious choice for me :) (having said that it was a couple of years ago that I talked to yellow brick road so you might want to get more up to date info yourself!).

I would definitely recommend beads n bling, they’re lovely people and so helpful and patient. And they have everything laid out in front of your own little ‘workstation’ when you arrive! Basically the way it worked was that they taught you the technical skills you need to make earrings, a necklace and bracelet, but you’re free to add whatever beads you want so it’s all to your own taste. You get to keep whatever you make at the end of the lesson (so if you get the hang of making earrings quickly you could make a few of those to bring home :P).

I think they do lessons to cater to all levels of experience, so just make sure if you sign up that it’s one for beginners. Hope that helps!
