    Hi
Looking for opinions please. As part of my upgrade offer with O2 i have an evoucher which would basically get me an iphone 4 for free based on current prices. I also got a good montjhly price plan (bill pay) so I'm happy with that. But with all the discussion of the iphone 5 due out soon, should I wait and use the voucher towards the iphone 5?

Really want an iphone and am not really too bothered about having the latest version so am leaning towards just getting the 4 now but just want to get some opinions. Will I be kicking myself in a months time if I get the 4 now?

How do you know if you aren't bothered about having the latest version if you haven't seen it yet? It'll only be a few more weeks at most. Wait and decide when the iPhone 5 is announced.

Wait for the iphone 5. It wont be long and when it arrives you can get it or get an iphone 4 at a reduced price. Your crazy to get one now imo.

Exactly, I really want one now but will wait a few weeks for either a cheaper 4 or a too good to miss 5:)

If the previous releases are anything to go by, you'll not only be waiting the few weeks until Apple releases the iPhone 5 in the US, but also the month or more before it's released in Ireland, and then even more time waiting because of shortages.

I was in a similar situation but decided with the iphone 4.
Companies making mobile phones and computer games seem to save money on testing by releasing them way too early these days and then fixing them as they go on, I wouldnt buy an iphone 5 until it had been out a year.

Apple don't really do that to be fair.

^^ Also, Apple will replace any faulty hardware with no fuss and you can install any updates to iOS yourself via iTunes.

Always look at this before buying Apple stuff.

In fairness, it'll be a few weeks before it's out in the States; give that another month or so before it's out here, and another few weeks before it's easily available.

OP, for what it's worth, I'm holding out (and have been since about February!). If you're not too pushed about having the latest one, then my advice would be to wait until the iPhone 5 (or whatever it's gonna be called) comes out, then buy an iPhone 4.

You should probably wait. Whether you want the new one or not, the iPhone 4 will get a price drop when the iPhone 5 comes out.

It already dropped in price, an attempt to reduce stock as much as possible

Can you advise how you got your e voucher?

I got a call from 02 a few weeks back to see if i was happy with my package. Told them I was and then they said "ok, will we sign you up for a new contract"!!!!!! No offer of new upgraded phone etc...

Told them there was no way of I was signing up just like that as my contract was up in December and was planning to move to 3 as i could get the I phone 4 for free. My current I phone 3gs is acting up. Just powers off for no reason when using apps or on the web even is battery is at 80%.

O2 then stated they would bring forward my upgrade but it would still cost me €200 for the Iphone 4.

just curious as to how i could obtain the e voucher also as i don't have a spare €200 currently and my current phone is driving me nuts with the constant power loss. Only have it 14 months but no insurance

Thanks for the replies, think I will wait another month to see if there is an announcement from apple.

Actung 123 - I told O2 there was no way I was paying €199 for an iphone 4 when the meteor package gave me a free one and it had more texts that the one they were offering me so the only way I would stay was if I got a free iphone.

It took a bit of persuading but it seemed to work. Good luck.
