USB 3.0 Not recogised on WD My Passport

I recently purchased a WD My passport 1tb SE with 3.0 compatibility and have been using it with my old laptop (USB 2.0) But i recently purcahsed an ASUS laptop with USB 3.0 but it doesnt recognise it, it works in the USB 2.0 ports alright but there when i plug it into the 3.0 port it lights up and i can hear it working but…
