    "Fitzie"

A portrait of Anglo banker Sean Fitzpatrick. Plenty of material to draw on there.

    - the 'humble' beginnings
    - the rise to become the "best" bank in the world
    - the background relationships with the celtic tiger developers.
    - the finding of his successor, David Drumm.
    - the drama behind the St Patrick Day massacre
    - the government bailout in 2008
    - the marian finucane interview "target the scared cows"
    - being made a pariah of the banking community
    - the hidden loans fiasco, window dressing the books
    - the publicly charming rogue, yet privately ruthless.

    Now who would play Seanie?

A film about all the benefits it brought to Irish culture, the brief experience of confidence within the collective Irish psyche, the respite from hundreds of years of gloom and toil, the construction of the spire as a monument to a time when the Irish people soared to the sky like Icarus only to have their wings burned, the flash cars and frivolity, yes, if it were made in a way to challenge the consensus that it was uniformly bad thing I think it could have potential.

My version would have a vast, decrepit, oblivious middle class horde buying tacky overpriced **** from various suburban retail parks, constantly acquiring bank shares and property. Then when the bubble burst they started turning into Zombie like creatures and feasted on each others brains. The epilogue would feature a Green Tiger roaming the Dublin Mountains, looking wistfully over a once great city consumed by Zombie-ism and madness.

    This writing lark is easy.
