How come when the rest of the world is moving to roundabout junctions, we are going back to expensive traffic light options. Surely this money could be better spent. For example, resurfacing would appear needed more in many areas.

The correct answer is, of course, more threads and CYCLE ALL THE THINGS.

Could you give an example of the rest of the world moving to roundabout junctions?
The NRA funding can only be used for the roundabout removal scheme and N6 works.

Theres also the fact that the roundabouts are useless for the traffic conditions we have here and are simply unable to cope with the amount of traffic in galway.

There has been very little added to the road network in recent years despite the large scale development that has gone ahead.

Roundabouts are only useful when there is an even flow of traffic and the exits are clear. Which isn't the case in galway.

Wouldn't have this discussion if we got Monorail, trust me.

There are enough traffic threads now in this forum.
If you must know, start a "Roundabouts v Traffic Lights" thread in Infrastructure.
