Running with water bottle

OK, I like to run outside but I just can't hold a bottle of water in my hand while I'm doing it?

It completely puts me off my stride and I just find it generally annoying!!! So much so, that I don't bring water with me anymore.

Any alternatives for me? I run up a forested hill with nothing around except trees,bushes,etc... so finding a tap/fountain or something on my route isn't an option

Pretty sure there's backpacks with straws out of them you can pick up in big sports stores. Google ''hydration systems''.

You can get bottles with a hole in the middle which are easier to hold and at a push, can sometimes be 'worn' on your wrist. Or you can get hydration belts which hold a selection of small bottles.

Yea, 'Camelbak' is probably the most recognized of the brands. All the different brands of hydration systems are brilliant, I'd definitely recommend!

Also if its a driveable route, you could stash a drink somewhere beforehand.

hmm... about 3/4 of the route has a road so this idea might "hold some water" :D

Not sure about having it on my back either? Might ask if anyone I know has one and give it a shot. Hiding a bottle of water on the route doesn't seem like a half bad idea though.

I hate using a rucksack, but the Tesco ones are cheap as chips. Under 15 quid iirc. They do go rancid if you dont clean them tho.

    is it long distance?

while it can be a comfort to have a drink of water along the way, im pretty sure if youre hydrated beforehand you'll be fine, at least for the first 10k+

you'll get used to not having it, how many runners do you see carrying a bottle of water with them :)

My mate uses a water belt and swears by it.

Drink a few glasses of water beforehand and don't bring any water with you.
I never bring water with me at all and that'd include long runs of 20 miles.

Indeed, contrary to popular belief, you can actually take more than ten steps in any direction without requiring a sip of Evian.

I have a pocket. It holds many things including bottles of water.

    Carry 2 bottles for balance?!

Cycling shops should have the hydration belts. like chainreactioncycles.com

Argos have weird ones made for holding.

Yeah, I'd look for a custom water bottle that's designed to be easily held while running. Or maybe you can track down outdoor running paths/areas lined with water fountains! Perfect for a quick break.
