Destinations for this Winter?

    Hi Folks! I'm going to head off this October and stay away for at least 3 or 4 months. Any suggestions on suitable locations re climate, economy, culture etc.

    Initially I was going to try out Hawaii and possibly California but the whole 90 day only visa is a bit of a pain to say the least? Open to ideas! Thanks

    Canary Islands? Still good weather, cost of living is small and not too far away.

    Thanks purpleblaa, all you say is true!

    But I have been there before. La Palma and La Gomera are nice. The other Islands are horrible in a package tourist way which isn't me by the way. I find the landscape barren too If I had to stay near Europe then I would go back to Morocco re weather and price. But I'm thinking further afield.

    Anyone been to central / south america? Or California / Hawaii? Or even Indonesia (not Bali)
