Just after the Gatso lines approaching Firhouse on M50 northbound this evening there was a campervan in a service layby.

It was a hippy sort of Van but but it looked like there were clear patches of glass like the back of a safety camera van.

Did anyone else see it and think same??? I was under limit myself (trying to economise on fuel :-) but if it was in disguise then I think that the title of my post should read: "Speed Camera Trap Camera Van - Disguised as Campervan?? M50 14th Sep 2011" as does noting for safety if not identifiable in my view

Saw that earlier. I'm pretty sure that was some obscure Japanese MPV - its not even wide enough to be a camper.

The Guards speed camera vans are effectively all high-roofed Transits and I think nearly all if not all are now in some way marked - either with large camera signs or just the word "GARDAI" on the side. All are D reg and less than 5 years old as far as I know

The GoSafe vans are either extremely highly marked or totally unmarked and the latter does not issue fines, its a survey van. All are 10 or 11 reg, mostly KY but some other southern counties too.

Spotted what appeared to be an ambulance parked up in a camera zone in the midlands a couple of weeks back.. It had all the markings of an ambulance except the word "ambulance" !
