Since the introduction of the exhaust noise regulations for the NCT has anyone noticed a huge drop in noise from car exhausts? Near me I would say it's less than a third of what it was previously which is good news particularly at night you now have little or no $hitboxes driving around disturbing my rest :D

I think the recession has alot more to do with it then the nct, together with the death of the Japanese import market.

Since the nct has been around people have removed mods that would fail and then refitted them after the test. Sports exhaust would be no different.

Sure the window tint regulations came in at the same time and there are tint companies offering the service of removing/refitting the tint so the car will pass the test.

Hmmmm. Something tells me that 'maurice' is one of those people who has so little going on in his own life that he feels the need to write letter like that.

The hyped up exaggerated rubbish of a busybody IMO.

The general demographic that traditionally goes for loud exhaust civics has switched to diesel passats & a4s. Thus less loud exhausts.

I'm not sure furtzy if there are less of the clowns around, they're just blending in more now! :p

Ah no, Maurice is all right, he's a grand fella actually, and he just wants some kip in the middle of the night.

    . . .and he's a big Elvis fan.

Anyone that's an Elvis fan is never too bad.

Maybe but I think most of the demographic is now on the dole. Either way suits me :D

Such stereo types are normally frowned upon on boards, or is that only if we mention drivers of expensive german cars?

I'd say the price of petrol/recession has a lot to do with.

The amount of selfish brats still tormenting the elderly and infirm with their very noisy cars is undeminished around here.

Maybe four cars on our estate alone come and go at all times of the day and night roaring at 1.am in the morning!

Our home is adjacent to a main road so we get on a regular basis the whole Concerto!

My main man is Ludwig Van Beethoven :-)

I hear your pain. I lived in a flat next to a mainer for a while and these guys keeping me awake had me seriously considering getting a block ready to throw at.
