Referred to the HSE for extractions

    Hi all,

I visited the dentist today for what I thought would be an extraction of a molar. After the dentist had a look he decided that I need four teeth removed (two molars and two wisdom teeth). The dentist didn't want to do this procedure because I have low blood levels as a result of a previous medical condition and he's worried about bleeding.

He told me that it would be more appropriate for the procedure to be carried out in a hospital environment by a consultant, so he referred it to the HSE.

My query is to how long this process may take. The dentist mentioned something about waiting lists but didn't give me any indication of how long I may be waiting. The original tooth I had intended to have removed is quite painful.

Does anyone have any experience of this as a patient or a professional? I'm looking for a rough idea of how long this may take, whether it's a matter of weeks, months or years? Any advice appreciated.
